Late to the party!

So, what makes me the most sad about all of this is that I didn't know my files were missing until today when I looked in my directory with FP.

Right now, I only use my powweb hosting for a very small subset of my site... just some large images at the moment. This is why I didn't notice immediately.

Why didn't I get an email telling me my stuff had been lost?

The 6 months credit is cool, but I'd rather have 1/2 of a refund, personally. All of the turmoil I'm seeing in this forum makes me question wanting to use this service for anything important.

Did anyone get an email telling them their stuff had been hosed?

I dont' think that's a valid argument for them, considering this is what the major ISPs do.

If you have service from, say, UUNet or PSINet, or any other 2nd/3rd tier provider, you get a FAX and maybe and email too, when your T-1 line goes down, or if they have a network fart.

It's a common practice, and only builds good will between the company and the consumer.

But, as I know this topic has been talked to death on here, I will say nothing more on it.
