I'm trying to ftp up an index page and a few quick graphics to get started on my new site. I notice a difference in the directory structure than my other hosts use, so read through the ftp instructions.

It details in there that there should be a cgi, an htdocs, and a couple of other directories. But, when i get logged in via ftp, all i see is a folder named "." and a folder named "..", no other directories. putting an index.html file there was no good, I tried creating my own htdocs folder, still no luck. I'm used to having a cgi folder but putting my index file outside the cgi folder at the root of the sites folder.

Am I missing something or in the wrong directory? It's just different than the set ups I'm used to on unix servers? I don't know.. Any ideas or direction? TIA.

Hi Joe!

If your default folders are not created within an hour or so, e-mail support@powweb.com. The good folks there will take care of everything for you and set them up.

Good luck!

Thanks bud,

I sent them a message cause i've
been waiting long time now. I was
trying to rule out an operator problem
first if you know what i mean.

I'm surprised it allowed you to even log in  I've heard of one of the folders not being present...but none of them? Hmmm...

Which FTP program are you using, by the way?
