Cannot access either of my two sites via FrontPage. Have tried re-installing FP extensions and waiting 15 minutes with no success.

Also tried uninstalling extensions on one site and then re-installing, also with no luck

None of my forms work on wither of these sites!

Please help!

I just got off the phone with tech support. He indicated that the attributes to all my files were not correct. He said I needed to uninstall the FP Extentions. Then, through FTP, CHMOD all my files to 755. In other words, give all my files Read, Write and Execute to the owner, Read to everyone else. Then, install the FrontPage extentions.

I did this and still no luck I'm still getting the we80.cnf error. I'm going to call them back (long distance, I might add) and have them fix what ever they did.

Your effort in this regard is really appreciated.

I'm seeing the exact same issues and am anxiously awaiting resolution.

You can add me to the list of people who are getting frustrated. I have reinstalled as well, with no luck.

I don't understand why I would need to go in and change all of my files through FTP...if I never changed their settings.

This needs to be resolved--immediately.

Has anyone received a reply from tech support on this? Obviously, when they upgraded to FP2002 extensions, it wiped out FP functionality for quite a few sites.

If anyone from technical support monitors this forum an update or at aleast an acknowledgement of the problem would be nice.

By the way, I tried the ftp re-publish route and it didn't fix the problem either. Since I haven't heard anything, I will once again try re-installing the extensions on one of my sites.

this problem is really costing me money. We are a full-service travle agency and it is imperative that I keep my website up to date with all the last minute specials.

It's difficult for me to do a radio talk show on saturday and speak of all my great specials and when you get to my site they are not there, because I can't access the site to update it.

This really is working on my last nerve, and need to be fix ASAP. Please do not ask me to fix a problem that was created by PowWeb, just make it work, like it was a few days ago.

thanks!!!!

I've had the same problem (we80.cnf error)... Tried reinstalling, waited for about a half hour, and it still says "Queued to be installed in 5 minutes..."

I can't even get through to tech support over the phone, so I had to settle for e-mail... Still haven't heard anything.

I hope this is fixed soon.

Hello,

I think the admin corrected most of the issues with frontpage and its components. Please try republishing a test form and let us know the outcome.

Thanks again for your patience.

I am desparate too
I couldn't publish to my 3 sites with Front Page and managed to phone support I (from Europe !!) as they did not reply to email within 24 hours
Someone called Nick said he had to delete my HTaccess files and to retry in 20 minutes - but this did not work - phoned again and someone called Eddie, told me to uninstall FP extensions and use FTP to change permissions on files via CH Mod to Read-write and execute - I did this reluctantly (I know nothing about FTP !!) and the result was that 2 sites are now on access denied/forbidden 403) and the other site works for main directory only and not the sub directories - so ALL graphics are broken ...

Does anyone know the correct format for the HT access files in the main root and the private directory (they look different) and does anyone know how I can at least get the access denied fixed via FTP - I have tried dozens of times - now pow web is not answering the phone... HELP

when you publish using Frontpage remove the www from your domain name and see if it works. Let me know. Example my domain is www.npgpro.com. Instead of http://www.npgpro.com I used http://npgpro.com and I was able to access it.

Thanks Goose
I published using FP without the www and it worked ....I am still dealing with the mess up about access denied after I edited vias FTP - but someone else here is helping me with that... hopefully it should all be working soon - pity tech support could not tell me what you did

the changes haven't done anything for me, either. I need to make updates on my site in a timely fashion, as well--and the fact that I can't get in with FP 2002, something I was able to do last week, is very frustrating.

I was about to migrate another site over to PowWeb. Now it looks like I will be migrating away.

I am now able to access my sites with FP by dropping the www from the url: as http://sitename.com

All form functionaily seems to have returned to the sites as well. I sympathize with Powweb tech support on this as I am sure that Microsoft does not make it easy for hosts who use Apache instead of IIS.

While FP access was down yesterday I converted some of my forms over to cgi mail handlers (FormMail, link from Powweb Q&A) and used FTP Works (freeware) to transfer files and I am amazed at how much faster upload/download and form processing is. I believe that now I will convert all of my forms to cgi scripts since they are much more reliable than FP web bot forms, and seem to process about twice as fast. FTP file transfers seem to be about 300% faster than using FP so I recommend it as a viable alternative to using FP.
