Tweaking Windows XP Home or Pro
If your having trouble with the new Windows XP Home or Pro

go to this website and follow the instructions
http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm.

These new operating systems are weighed down with alot of junk the home pc user doesn't need.

I configured my xp pro version close to what the owner of the website recommends, I saw a marked improvement in my systems performance.

Read through the recommedations carefully, after your done
re-boot your system.

Good Luck

When you post links / urls, make sure you do not use a period before the closing url tag..

Here are the above 2 links without the periods at the end

Good grammar and punctuation doesn't always make for good coding :)

but I have an XP tweak guide available for anyone interested.

I used the above referenced tweaks for the services portion, but also pulled alot of other stuff down for memory and GUI tweaks and such. Doing the services tweaks alone saved me 40MB of active memory (though I killed my printer, heh).
