odd...

maybe your URL is similar to a naughty site? Sorry.. but I have no interest seeing if you are actually linked on those pages... <G>

My site is completely different from those though. Check it out. Plus, the adult links are unreachable... I'm stumped.

Oh.. I've checked out your site before, and know it's not adult content. I don't understand it myself.. and I know I'd be a little freaked by it if it were me... on the other hand.. any traffic is good traffic.. long as they don't deface my boards...

Never knew the trillions of porn sites could generate traffic for someone not affiliated.

none of the links that I tried are actually sites or valid links - strange

Yeah, yeah, Terrell, laugh all you want, lol. Indeed, the "adult" links are neither reachable nor valid. Someone probably is fooling around with my website statistics. Is there anything I could do about this?

Why would somebody be motivated to do that?

I wish I knew, and if I did I wouldn't be here (lol).

Well if you tried all those links Ricky your a better man that I am! LOL Those porn sites are dangerous.. I've run into a few by accidental typos in a domain name that cause about 400 windows to open and a new one opens everytime you close one.. Pretty nasty.. Some even cause a browswer crash.. Now I'm a little more carefull on spelling of the domains I visit.. But those animals find a new way all the time to get you wheather you try to avoid them or not..

Good tip, Randall. I just tried a couple of those links and it occurred to me that all of them were fakes. I wonder why anyone would want to hack into my statistics though. I also wonder if it is possible for PowWeb to get to the bottom of this? I mean pornography and a website based on the appreciation and celebration of life, certainly don't mix, lol.

OMG!

And sure it may seem a little funny, but porn traffic has to probably be the most useless traffic available. (to a regular website!) ... besides "warez" traffic.... that has to be the ABSOLUTE worst traffic :D

Anyways, this leads me to my point... if those are REAL hits, they're sucking up yer bandwidth.... precious, sweet sweet bandwidth... mmmmm... bandwidth... *drool*

Haha, I actually have a website that gets a pile of hits from warez (piracy) sites... I guess the normal sounding domain used to be one... haha, I just send the "warez" traffic to some Affiliate link, lol! I make a few bucks off of their inconvenience of getting a website filled with ads and popups, lol ;)

Yah gotta do what yah gotta do :p
