Forum Time Zone?

Could someone please explain to me how the time zone functions in this forum? In my options, I've selected GMT -5.00 EST. Yet that doesn't seem to compute with the time stamp shown when I enter the forum.

For example, it's now showing "The time now is 10:45 PM." But where I am (EST), the actual time is 2:45 PM (1/18/02).

Color me confused. :confused:

It was rather surreal to see messages posted with a time showing hours, later than the actual time. And now it's weird - after the fix - to see your reply posted in time BEFORE my question. ;)
