View Full Version : why isn't my site working?
i was dissapointed when my web site went down today, i guess because of the server maintanence you we're doing on monday night.
after it came back it was slow, very very slow, things took an age to load.
now it's been down for atleast the last 5 hours.

both give cgi wrap errors, nothing has been installed or changed on the site, i'd just like to know if the problem is your end.

Powweb support is aware of the problem and working on it.

I too am getting the cgi wrap error. Anyone know how long this is going to last? When PowWeb fixes the problem, am I going to have to do anything on my end, or will the cgi just start working again?
I imagine it will just start working again.
Worse case scenario is all our Data will be lost, but I don't see that happening.
I did a backup right before it went down:)

Same problem here.
Since I signed up with Powweb in March, webserver and PHP performance have decreased dramatically.
Mail is often not accessible.
No. I don't need no free service months, neither do I need outages. I want my website to be available, and it has to load fast.
I want to be able to fetch my email anytime.
I'm not willing anymore to wait a minute (or forever) for the last small graphics on my pages to load.
I'll be gone. Just signed up with another host provider, sorry.
Powweb, please feel free to keep the remaining 5 months I paid for + the 2 free months ...
I was told by powweb that they didn't give anyone free months as a result of the server move a few weeks ago......

HUH?
I have 6 months Credited in my account package with powweb due to site outage which resulted from the move a few weeks ago.
They gave me and opthers on callisto 6months free service for not meeting their 99.7% uptime limit.

Interesting. I don't know what Starr was thinking when he/she said to me, "No one was given any compensation due to the data center move."
I had requested compensation for my site being down for an extended period during that time, too. Part of my site was down for 3 weeks after I reported the problem...
I was finally offered 30 days extra, after complaining again. I guess they figured that if they threw me a bone, I would be quiet...

Hi!
The 6 month free hosting was not related to the datacenter move.
Instead, it was back when one of PowWeb's servers (Space) took a MASSIVE attack that left folk's site hosted there inaccessable for several days.
Starr was correct when he said no credits were issued for the datacenter move. But instead it relates to the problem towards the beginning of September when the server was attacked.
Hope that helps. :)
There was also the 6 months free service given to the callisto server when the hard drives failed and the backup was bad.
Thats what I got and it was after the datacenter move but only about 1 week after.
RadioRob, thanks for the clarification...
