Guys - does anyone know if there is a timeframe for this to be fixed?
waiting, waiting, waiting ....

Yep - Mine's out too
I'm glad I didn't do anything dumb like rely on PHP/MySQL for the main parts of my site, just old-fashioned HTML/Javascript, which usually works. We all know how tricky it is to keep these newfangled things working right!
I'm sure they are working on it as we speak, and we will see a note here about it in a while.

:(
Unfortunataly everything I do on my site is PHPed

Looks like CGI is out too
But hey - that just means I've got no forums, databases, mail, linktraking, counters, or such - at least they can see (most of) my main page
I noticed on another thread that the problem is being worked on (as of 2:30) and it's only been 4 hours
Who's in a rush - it's not like our job depended on it
Take a vacation with pay & enjoy it - the business will wait

We are still down too and out for the count, and still counting..........
Hopefully, Powweb will inform their customers as to WHY the outage occurred (not that it was just fixed). Does anyone have a clue? Did they try to do more changes or upgrades to Callisto during the network outage, etc. Callisto seems to be having more than its fair share of problems IMHO, does not help the 24/7 and tis not helping the uptime percentage rate (at least for Callisto packages).
**SLSTEK thinks letting customers know what and WHY ASAP improves customer confidence in Powweb service and support and possibly mitigates some related frustrations**
Yep. My sites are still down too. I use ALL PHP...BUMMER!
This problem actually started at around 10 am EST this morning.
Powweb didn't get on it until about 4hrs later. SO now hrs later, still not up. :(

Yeah - have to ask the question if Callisto is cursed ... my other site on Terra *never* has these problems (looking for a bit of wood to touch - curse these plastic offices).
Has anyone ever managed to switch servers? :D
Does a chicken have lips? :D

I'm on space & have the same issues. Also I found that I can't ftp onto the site (authentication failed). That would seem to be related...
<sigh>
Here we go again :(

Bump Bump
Come on Powweb, pizza break should be over by now.
Callisto's HTTP is working, FTP is working, MySQL is working, but PHP has gone belly up.
Just out of the blue, PHP goes belly up? Come on and at least talk to us and tell us what is the problem and what caused it.
Geewizzers.

You all know how hard it is to get replacement parts for these newfangled inventions. Wher are they ordering the parts from????

Well it's almost 4am EST and haven't had PHP working since midday yesterday.....
I assume those poor overworked techs have gone home fopr the nite and I won't see any help til after Noon today (9am PST, where their office is)
Nothing like being up all nite answering emails and phone calls about why much of my site is down!
Bob
Announcement has said that PHP is now up on callisto - what about cgi - mine is still not working. Seems like callisto is really jinxed. I need it badly!!!!!!!

I'd contact Support (http://www.powweb.com/support/contactsupport.html) if your CGI still isn't working. My CGI was down on Callisto as well, but it's been back for several hours without interruption.

Ouch.
My cgi is still down on callisto - 403 error Forbidden.
Also cannot access cgi-bin through FTP - denied access to directory but all other files are available.
Any suggestions?....(and yes, I have contacted support - nothing back from them yet)

Callisto + PHP is a dog now, very slowwwwwwww, seems to be problems still.

Happened????
What happened???
I thought it was normal -
It was only out for 3/4 of a day???????
Give them a break, just keep saying to yourself
'its only a hobby, it's only a hobby......."
Bob
I'm still locked out. For some reason permissions on my cgi-bin were set to "0" and of course, I can't change them - permission denied.
Day 2 and still patient

Hey,
My client is only saying that his free host had better uptime and they let him know what/if anything happens. A very detailed description of the problem shows the client that you know whats going on and that you have a handle on it.(hmm...maybe they don't have a clue)
I have local dev servers that I run better than this!
~Paul
for those of us who have customers, clients and members, 3/4 of a day with little or no information is a long time.
this kind of down time and slow down is not normal.
it is also not the service you are paying for.
powwebs costs are their own choice, but the product they sell is the 'perfect hosting solution', and this is not what we are getting.
i'll be putting my complaint in writing.
My PHP is back up and running on my site, but still kind of flaky.

I am a "brujo" from the islands (sorcerer - male witch doctor), what is being done to callisto is beyond my powers, but if this thing is not fixed real soon, watch out PowWeb techs… you're going to be jumping from pond-to-pond.
PHP flaking out again on callisto. My site was back up a little while, but started having problems again. Now my site on callisto, running PHP-Nuke, DOWN.
The drama continues....

These things seem to happen whenever PowWeb does the "routine maintenance"...
Maybe they shouldn't try to fix what ain't broke!
why is callisto different?
Cephied has been fine all week.
like i'm even expecting an answer to this ........
Hmm...do you know whats funny?
Powweb's site never seems to go down!!!
Ps. Thanks for the edit alphadesk.....I bet they pay you tons for your loyalty. You might be able edit my msg here but *not* my msgs to some of Powweb's affiliates etc.
php + sendmail is not functional, or maybe just sendmail is dead.
Switching to SMTP mode works, but sendmail died during the past day. :(
