MySQL Is DOWN on Mercury

The MySQL server on Mercury has been down since at least 8:13 AM EDT, so that's at least six hours at this point.

Posts have been made and I have emailed support, but in six hours we haven't as much as gotten an announcement saying they're aware of the problem and looking into it. All we've gotten is total silence.

Could someone at PowWeb please look into this and tell us what's going on? Thank you.

(I thought maybe the thread title "mercury, come back" wasn't grabbing their attention.)

I just called technical support about this, since email and forum posts weren't getting any results.

The guy I talked to was not aware that this was happening. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes then came back and said they are going to restart the server shortly and MySQL should be back up after that. I guess we'll see...

And, just like that, everything's back up.

I don't know why I bother emailing them for anything like this. Calling always gets much faster results (one minute vs. seven hours and counting in this particular case).
