I know this doesnt have anything to do with the web or powweb but ive found most of you to be very smart and helpful and also couldnt figure out which would be a better forum to place this in.
My wife want to do some creative writing, of course she doesnt want anybody to look at it. Is there a way to password protect a floppy disk?
Also what is some good software for creatice writing, anybody?

A very nice, and very secure encryption utility is ABI Coder.

It is available here for only around $13 US.

This software doesn't password protect a file or folder, it actually encrypts the contents. I have been using it for a year and am very happy with it.

As far as your wife's creative writing...well, I am not sure what to offer there.

Hope this helps

Word can password protect a file, but I think there are a few progs that can crack it rather easily...might be good enough for casual use. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Security.

There may be some add on program that does it, but none of the OS's do, AFAIK. NTFS can encrypt, but I don't think a floppy can be NTFS.

ZIP now has a removable drive that offers encryption.

Good Luck,

I might add on to this question to check if you can password protect a CD-ROM
