does powweb have them...
if so how do we set them up

we are being inundated with email and need a way to clear up some time to help us focus on high priority messages first.

No...powweb does not have an auto-responder.

But you can install your own email client (such as squirremail, and there's another good one...someone will jump in and tell ya) that has an auto-responder.

Have you setup different email accounts (people, department) to prioritize emails??

yes we have set up various emails

for example we have a electronic newsletter that when people sign up - we would like an automated message sent back to them - but since Powweb doesn't offer autoresponders then we will have to look at your suggestion...

thanks

I use Squirrelmail (at squirrelmail.org)...it was moderate to setup.

I also believe Outlook (maybe Outlook Express) has an auto-responder also.

Even Outlook Express can be useful for this. Under Tools - Message Rules - Mail, set up a rule that watches for your special addresses. Put that address in the "condition" section (top) of OE's rules as to what triggers the rule. Then put what you want it to do in the middle (action) section -- you can have it delete mail, move mail, respond with a file, etc. and I just keep a few pre-written message files on hand for the purpose. You check your mail, see it coming in and then almost instantly see the responses going out.
