here's a bit of work i am doing for an imaging company, i was checking out their product and got to thinking that for a company like this their web site sucks !! so i offered to redo it for them
here is their version:
original (http://www.neuraltek.com/blackmagic.html)
and here is what i have done so far :
My version (http://www.wanbridge.net/blackmagic/)
I think it is an improvement, all the links work as do the e-mails however i have not done anything to the linked pages
can y'all check out my version and let me know if there are any probs loading it, i have only checked it with IE 6
Thanks
I like the second one better. The first one was so busy I didn't even want to look at it.
On your version the top part that stays stationary seems a little big. It only gives me a small window on the bottom to look at the text.
Most people say black is a a bad color but it works pretty well on your site.

i had to stick very much to their origianl design and yes the top frame is to big
we are working on completely restucturing the site however it's difficult to get some peope to budge, and major changes always frighten someone, but this site needs it !!

Yah, it's certainly better... and if you say it's hard getting the owners to "budge" on the site design, then I wont comment any further, as there would be no point :D
But I feel your pain on that. All my life... ok.. the past 2 years... I've been designing sites and you know, doing the whole process a certain way. Until now... I'm sort of stuck with a client that kind of has a little bit of knowledge about design.. not a lot, but a little.. and he thinks he knows a lot. It's absolutely annoying to work with him :p
I'd just like to do what I do, and design the freakin site, but first I have to review some drawings... YES.. DRAWINGS!! of his site he well... drew. Then, from there, you know.. more bs, it sucks! Ontop of that his business hasn't even started, so I have NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING to work with for content, pics, etc.. *sigh*
Anyways, sometimes I'd just like pic his brains out with a fork ;)

I agree, the top frame is WAY too large.. why frames at all? I'd suggest taking it out of the frames completely and using a linked style sheet for all your font values. Let the left table scale so it fills the browser size (w/my screen maximized, I have a LOT of blank space on the right). The txt in the left table should also be aligned left.. centered txt is hard to read for large patches.
It needs a real <TITLE></TITLE> (maybe 'Black Magic - Colorize your Black and White Photos).
Some of the graphics in the right hand bar either need to be edited a bit more to fit on a black screen.. or you need to get the graphic they have for a black background.
Looks the same (for the most part) in Opera 5.12, NS 6.2, IE 6x, and the TRUE test, NS 4.79 (good job there!).
I didn't run a validate on it (as it seems to be rendering correctly), but we all know I almost always suggest that (just to be sure).
Looking good..and yes.. a VAST improvement ;)
