I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in joining a Distributed Computing Team?
It's alot of fun and is for a good cause! We have several teams doing different projects, they are all science related.
Folding and Genome are put on by Stanford University, doing medical research. Think is by United Devices, this deals with cancer research. Seti checks radio telescope signals for intelligent life in space. ECCp-109, Notre Dame, test encryption technologies and has two $1000 prizes. And RC5 is done by United Devices and Distributed.net and also tests encryption with a $1000 prize.
For any of these projects, you just download a small program that runs in the background on your computer and only uses 'unused CPU cycles' and does not effect the perform of your machine at all!
I host with Powweb and really like the serivce! If anyone is interested in trying this out, here's a Link to my site (http://www.extremedc.com)
