Hi,
I updated the index file on my site yesterday, however the changes still do not appear on the site. When I down load the current Index file to look at it the updated info is there. Why is the old index file still showing up?
I am very new to all this so be kind.

here's a list of things to check

1) clear your computers Cache (IE=tools/internet options/deletefiles)

2) make sure the file you are updating has the same extention.
eg: index.html, index.htm the server will read .html extentions first.

3) make sure you are loading in the correct "htdocs/" directory

4) if none of those work, your ISP has your site chached. Try a fake subdomain to "call" the updated version to your ISP.

eg: fake.yourdomain.com

if these don't work let us know.

Jade,
thanks for answering, I tried all of your suggestions and nothing worked. I also
uploaded the file again to see if the extension was correct and it was.

Can you think of anything else?

Be sure to refresh your browser if you have not shut it down in the past day.

Or close all browser windows and open it again; this depends on the setting you have to view pages.

What is your site info/URL so we can see if it is up???

Hi,
It's me again.
I typed in the following in error and the corrected web site comes up.
http://mail.hubgl@goldhillcasinos.com, but if I type the url http://www.goldhillcasinos.com the old site comes up. What's with that?

Thanks
hubgl:(

I get the same address at jackpotcity.com

Make sure you delete your history files and cookies from your browser.

This may also be cause if you changed the DNS info lately. It takes 24-72 hours for it to update. Then your ISP has to update it on their system.
