New to the game, FTP questions

Hello, I just signed up today and registered a new domain earlier today (so that may be the delay in things). I download a FTP, the one suggested in here in the FAQ. I got an email with my Package setup info and I attempted to fill out the info following the FAQ, I filled out the right info but the FAQ says I should see 3 folders in the FTP window- cgi-bin, htdocs, logs. But I see:

complete.wav
connect.wav
error.wav
remove.exe
whatsnew.txt
WS_FTP.hlp
WS_FTP.ini
WS_FTP95.exe
WSFTP32.dll
[-a-]
[-c-]
[-m-]

Am I still waiting for things to be setup, or am I doing something wrong?

You should see 3 folders on the right hand side of the window, thats files/folders on the server.
cgi-bin
htdocs
logs

The left hand side of the window will be files/folders on your local machine.
complete.wav
connect.wav
error.wav
remove.exe
whatsnew.txt
WS_FTP.hlp
WS_FTP.ini
WS_FTP95.exe
WSFTP32.dll
[-a-]
[-c-]
[-m-]


If you are on "io" server there has been some lag time lately for the folder creation.

what's a "io" server?

And the right side is empty.

If the right side is empty the folders have not been created yet.

"io" is the name of newest server where most of the new sites are being hosted.

In your email, what server does it say you are on?

This is the only info I have in the email (other than my screen name and password.)

shown below.

Server : mail.utinni78.com


Also, it says:

You need to register, or modify your domains registration to use

What do I need to do with that?

Ok,
Try to ftp now, I bet you have folders
io.powweb.com means you are on the "io" server.

Your domain name is still pending. You have a temp domain address until your domain name propagates around the internet.
