I just bought an LCD monitor (Samsung 191T) with VGA/DVI in.

The monitor works fine with the VGA cable but i got no signal when i used
the DVI cable.I check the pins on the cable with a multimeter and
there's no connection between the two flat pins on each end of the cable.

Could it be my problem?

Thanks

Not necessarily the problem, most all cables have extra pins that are not used.

Sometimes they are just there to make sure that the cable can not be plugged in wrong. Often, on newer cables there are actually electronic circuits inside of them, with capacitors to block any DC voltage from traveling up the line. A capacitor will show as an open circuit to your ohm meter.

It's working.

It seems a lot of people have this problem.

This is what i done.

Turn off the monitor, give Windows XP the chance to boot completely.

Turn on the monitor. That's it !

Since then, even when i turned the computer off,it always detect the good port
