well you probably know that!


my http is disabled, both website and forum are offline, and it's peak
web-time here in europe! i'm getting lots of e-mails and have about
15 msn windows open with people asking me what's wrong and i don't
know what to tell them!

will someone sort that out please?

Since the other users of io have said that it's up now (and their websites look to be working), I'd suggest logging into OPS and seeing of there is any recent messages in the history section.

can't access htdocs folder in my ftp either, says Permission Denied.

One of the reasons io.powweb.com has been slow is because of your website. HTTP has been disabled on your account due to system resource abuse (below). Our admin also noted this under the "History" tab (category "Packages"). Please find ways to fix it before we can re-activate your account.

hmmm, now i found it:

what does "massive" mean though?

i can only see one request per couple of minutes.

unless there are about 20-100 more between every listed one.

can you provide me with the ip logs, to see if there was an attack.

or maybe they (the proccesses) simply don't end and cause trouble?


though something might be very wrong, my website (without the forum)
was using about 3-3.5 gb of transfer monthly, and now with the forum
bandwidth was over 5 gb for the last 10 days, around 500 mb per day!

does anyone else run InvisionBB forum software on your servers?

we only have about 400 users, a lot less super-active ones.


btw, my access and error logs are about 100 mb, can i delete them?


anyway, there is no way to fix it as i can't access anything. put my
website back online so i can disable the forum and take it on from there.

Your site is active now. Please look over your scripts. If it still becomes a problem, our admins will disable it again. You can access all your log files in your "logs" directory when you FTP to your account. If you have questions, regarding this, please direct it to admin@powweb.com. Thanks!

Hi cybernck,

I don't know exactly what the problem is. Please direct your question to admin@powweb.com. Our admin normally runs a "top" command on the server which shows the server load. It will also display any scripts/programs that are using the most resources. If a script or program is hogging up resources, that’s when our admin takes action. Under these circumstances, it is up to you to fix the problem. Our admins will not look at the codes of the script and try and figure out why its resource intensive. We will work with you in enabling the site again once you believe you found the source of the problem. Yes, you can delete your access and error logs.
