More bandwith questions !!

my bandwith usage seems to be growing by about a gig every day. im currently at 17gb usage. im worried that in a week or so im going to be over my limit. i dont want my site to go down...........what do i do ?

i have heard people say, get a second account, but how are the two accounts linked ? if i get 2 does this mean i will now have 50gb of bandwith per month ?

im very confused........:(

I took a look at your webstats and it looks like the cgi is what's eatting up your usage.

1600 visitors per day should not use that much bandwith unless you have a bunch of graphic or a bad cgi script.

Yes you could have more than one package, each package requires it's own domain name.

A popular way of using more that one "package" for your site is to have one as a file server for images and the main one for all the pages. Each package will have the 25GIG transfer and the 25OMB space on each, so you do double up.

Another thing you can do is split your site in to two. One for your news and information and the other for forum & chat and for community news such as real rides, and user comments.

Keep in mind if you do buy another domain to have it reflect your current one.

There is also a new powweb plus that has 35GIG transfer per month for (i think) it's 19.95/mo. But I like the cost savings of haveing two packages.

the forums and chat rooms are what attracts visitors to my site, so i definatly dont want to get ride of them. so, its your suggestion to open a second account and move the forums and chat to the second account ?

what do i do about the domain name ? this is what is reallly confusing me. are you saying i have to give the second account a domain name and re-direct or point the second account to my first account ? how does this work ?

Do don't get rid of them. Have one domain& package with your Main content. Then have the other domain & package as a file server to link all your images and such. You won't be able to tell the difference. I have a site set up just like this. http://wgg.drazan.com all the images are linked out to another domain and package. Works Great.

In Ops You can purchase a new domain and package for the "file server" You can name the domain anything you want.

to connect the two domains is really easy.

If all you are doing is linking images and such then use absolute paths.

thanks for your help. i have ordered the second package. i sure hopes this cures my problems. this is getting expensive. especially right here at christmas, but im trying to prepare for the obvious growth.

im going to transfer my forums and chat to the new package and serve some photos as well......
