How long before domain name gets registered?

i signed up earlier today around 11:30 am est

Everything is working great, the package got setup, but I noticed

my domain has not been registered yet in the ops panel, and if you look up the domain in any whois type search it still says it is available.

Do you know how long before it actually gets registered? I know it will take a while to replaicate the dns information across the internet.

I went out to eat and come back and noticed it now shows up in domreg in the ops section.

I guess I should have been more patient.
