Could someone please have a look at terra.powweb.com? We have two customer sites on terra.powweb.com and at this time today (and yesterday) the sites run for 1 minute at normal speed and then 2 minutes of no speed :-(

It's very frustrating to see your site comming to complete stand stills all the time.....

Thanks in advance,

Jan

Hi there Jan!

I see your sites right now without any problems. Try running a tracert on it to see if we can find out where the problem is.

Goto START, then RUN.

Type in "command"

Then in the window that pops up, type in "tracert domain.com" replacing domain.com with your real domain.

You will then see the path your request takes to get to PowWeb's servers.

Good luck!

Hi, and my site is on 'terra' and I have a similar problem.
The site is at
www.ronebergcairns.com
and it is a photo albumn.
It is very 'stop and start' when looking through it - some of the pauses are up to 60 seconds and during this time everything looks like it has come to a complete standstill.
????

To all at POWWEB
Thanks for the extra space!!! - I needed it!!!
If any of you guys come to Cairns Australia, the beer is on me!!!

Regards,
Geoff.

@RadioRob

There are no real differences in the tracert results between the fast situation and the standstill situtation (see below). Therefore I suspect that something on terra.powweb.com is causing the problem! Could it be that some process takes up all the resources??

Thanks in advance,

Jan

Looks like your problem stems from Level3 somewhere between Amsterdam and Anaheim.

Contact your ISP for assistance w/ this.

Hi Jan,

Starr is correct. Those numbers in the triple digits are not good. Those numbers mean it is taking a long time for it to get from your computer to PowWeb's server... and then taking most likely as long to get from PowWeb's server back to you.

So check with ya ISP. :) Maybe they can help. It's a problem somewhere before your request hits PowWeb's server, so they can't fix it.

I'm on terra too & this has been happening for a while now off & on. Today was a real bad day with delays.

I opened up several IE windows today when I started getting 1/2 to 1 min delays with my site opening up & found that while waiting for my page to open, I could open other non Powweb sites & refresh. Also opened another site on PowWeb's metor server with no problems along with refreshes. I did this several times throughout the day with the same results.

Although not the best way to test my only delays were on terra???

Using net monitor testing several ips including other PowWeb servers every 10 mins, terra was the only one to show delays of 30sec or more 12 out of 30 trys.

So it looks like terra is giving some delays.

Metro,

Have you tried running a tracert to see if the problem is somewhere between your computer and PowWeb's servers? If it's somewhere in PowWeb's control, they can have someone look into it. :)

Best regards,

@Starr @RadioRob,

Those two tracert results I displayed where from two different situations: one while the site Euroswapper.com was operating fast and the other while the site Euroswapper.com was hardly operating. The second situation means complete standstills of about 1 to 3 minutes!.

As you will see the tripple digits are there in both situations. That's something we are used to in traffic between Europe and North America.

This combined with the posts from geosha and Metro strengthens my believe that there definitely is something wrong with terra.powweb.com!

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Jan
