I just had a new (8th)package set up on the new servers. And WOW! talk about speed! My FTP uploads are from 80k/s to 130k/s.

(considering I'm supposed to have a 128k cap from my ISP. Wow!)

Thanks!!!!

I'm definitely one happy customer! :D

Hi Cafe...

Take a look at this post. :)

http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14065

PowWeb is preparing to move to a new architecture for hosting our sites. It's something that looks very promising.

Speeds are very nice! I use CuteFTP PRO and the upload speeds were pretty consistant between 80k and 130k. The download speeds were 270k to 320k consistant.

I have a 1.5MB connection, so the FTP was very good. I only average 60-70k on the other servers for upload. And when you are doing a nuke site it does help to have speed.

I won't even get into how many tickets I have from the "boys in blue". ;)

???? Are callisto customers first on the list to move over to the new servers? I heard it would be discontinued?

Drazan Enterprise ~ Main site (http://drazan.com)

Flamin' Drivers - Fun Site (http://flamindrivers.drazan.biz)

Drazan - Web Graphics Gallery (http://wgg.drazan.com)

Harry Potter Fan Site (http://wizardry-realm.drazanfamily.com)

PowNuke ~ Tutorials for phpNuke on Powweb Servers. (http://pownuke,com) Archangel & I are collaborating on it, but contributions are welcome.

I also have a large community site, which I've been working on for about 3 months. I need one really good 4 day weekend and I should have it up. I have (so far) 6 sites waiting to announce that one.

Thanks!

FYI: While we hope that eventually we can migrate all users to the new platform, for the time being, the new platform will only be for new accounts unless a user requests to be moved.

If you do want to be moved, simply send an email to support@powweb.com and request that your account (include your full domain name) be moved to the new server farm.

when a move is made or is it seemless.

There would be downtime (while DNS catches up). As I said, we will not move anyone unless they want to.

Mail would not be interupted in any way.

Thanks for the info Starr! I will definitely consider it for one of my accounts.

Do the name servers for the domain change?

I'll probably move my account over to the new server :)

Thanks.
