Hello. I don't mean to be rude, but first of all you deleted my posting that asked to create a list of users with stats down to complain, and that's not the way to control a forum, which is by definition a place to post thoughts and not to control them...

Anyway, and honestly, the answer given is totally absurd, since we as customers do not mind if webalyzer is free or nor, since the powweb package INCLUDES the stats as one of its advantages, and does not say "it's free software you are supposed to control in case you want problems".

That answer means that when the HTTP servers are down, we could get the same message, teling us the apache is free, right? obviously you will not say that!!!!

The key problem is this: stats used to work correctly, the CORE file created means it has something to do with the servers and processes, and NOT the configuration files, since it was OK, and then Powweb is obligated to answer, solve it, and to give a quick and definite solution. the problem is NOT buying something else, but the fact that the service we PAY for includes the stats...

I really believe the answer is quite not accepted. Hope other users agree and express here their feelings.

All I can say is that MY stats have been working since I enabled them a couple of months ago. They have never failed me yet.

99% of our users never have problems w/ our Webalizer based WebStats.

FYI, we rebuilt the Webalizer binaries on orion, terra, pluto, venus and mars last night. If you are on one of those web servers, and are STILL having a problems w/ your web stats, please message me directly.

For what it's worth, I guess I'm in the 1%. I can't get mine on Mercury to work.

Ummm, my stats are also not working and haven't from the time I turned them on last month. I am on the Saturn server as sagescave.com. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have both of you deleted the contents of your webstats directory and waited 24 hours to see if your webstats were recreated?

I moved two new domains to PowWeb yesterday. The new domains are on orion.powweb.com. Last night, the /webstats/ directory was created in each of the new accounts and there is an index.html file within those directories. However, when I try to pull stats via my browser, I get a 404 error. I also have four sites that are hosted on terra.powweb.com and the /webstats/ work fine there. I have not had any problems via terra. I'll wait and see if the orion.powweb.com stats start working tomorrow. Just want to let you know about my experience too.

For a little more clarification, I should explain that I have daily_usage_200201.png and daily_usage_200202.png but all that shows up is a little box with an red x in it

and my stats are down since January 24th...

Do you guys @ powweb have any date to fix the Saturn server (I mean, recompile the webalizer on the server, as you mention with other servers)?

...on the cleaning, as of now I changed the stats dir on my .conf file, so tonight at midnight it should look for an empty dir, and then start from scratch, which is the same as cleaning the webstats dir.

The problem on cleaning (del *.*) the webstats dir is that you *loose* ALL the stats as of now if you do so, and I need to try to keep the records to compare visits and so...

best,
a.

Yes, that was the first thing I tried. Well, actually, I renamed the webstats directory to something like old_webstats. The next day, I had a new webstats directory with a few extraneous files in it, but no significant data and definitely no HTML files.

The next thing I have tried (this completed last night). I turned webstats off in OPS. I deleted /etc/webalizer.conf. Then I renamed my webstats directory. I waited 24 hours and took note that there was no new webstats folder, etc. Then I went into OPS and turned webstats back on and waited overnight again. Today I had a new /etc/webalizer.conf and a webstats folder, but no new webstats.

BTW - the webstats in my accounts on TERRA never broke. I think they may have burped for a couple of days around January 23 but fixed themselves without further incident or any action on my part.

server admin:

my domain is in saturn, cinenganos.com

I changed the conf file to a new empty dir /mystats/
(http://www.cinenganos.com/mystats/)

and I have the same problem, the program is "dumping core", and since it's in an empty directory, with a .conf file that does not even ask for DNS resolution, I don't really know what else to do...

I've tried deleting files, creating new directories, asking for minimum things on the conf....

Help! urgently needed.... it's really NOT a matter of using a free program, it's something related to the program, since it's dumping core....!!!!!!!! HELP ME OBI_WAN, you're my only hope...

Kudos to whomever did the magic to get my webstats up and running this morning. It's the first time I have ever seen them, and I love it. Tons and tons of information about my web site traffic. Thanks again for all your trouble and help. I sure hope it continues to work.
