No Second Email..

Stupid subject.. sorry.. :)

I haven't recieved an email giving me FTP login details - could someone please advise?

You might try this...
You should be able to login thru FTP by using this:
hostname = www.yourdomainname.com
username = your powweb username
password = your password associated with that username

I've don't have a domain name with powweb, I think they were supposed to supply a temp one in the second email.

You cannot access a Powweb account without a domain name.

Hmm.. right let me explain:

I ordered the quarterly package at $43.31 - which has been taken from my credit card.. I believe there are three emails which are sent to powweb customers - according to the getting started tutorial:

"After placing your order we will be sending your three emails. The first email you will receive from us will have the subject:"Welcome to PowWeb Hosting". This email contains your Order Confirmation Number and webuser login for "OPS". You can login and view your account information at https://ops.powweb.com. After processing your order,you will receive a second email. This email will have the subject: Package Setup, which contains your FTP login. The third email will be a Credit Card Charge Receipt for your records."

I have not recieved the second email.

I have sent two emails to billing (only meant to send one) asking if they can help - nothing so far.

My website address is www.dreamexchange.net but this is not registered with powweb.

This address is not 'registered' with powweb, but they are hosting it for you, so this is the domain name that you will use to FTP your files.

If you have a FTP program, try to get into your site using this info:

hostname = www.dreamexchange.net
username = your username from your 1st email
password = your password associated with that username

or through a web browser, go to ftp://username@www.dreamexchange.net

and substitute your username into the address above. It will then ask for your password.

Afraid that doesn't work.. the domain name www.dreamexchange.net is registered with names.co.uk - it is currently fowarding to a free ISP home page. I need it to redirect to my powweb space - which I cannot access - this is the problem. :(

You need to update your domain record at names.co.uk so that your domain name servers are pointing to these:

Primary Server Hostname: NS3.POWWEB.COM
Primary Server Netaddress: 64.63.125.203

Secondary Server Hostname: NS2.POWWEB.COM
Secondary Server Netaddress: 64.63.125.202

(This is what they are set at currently:
Name Server.......... ns0.phase8.net
Name Server.......... ns1.phase8.net)

You will need to go to login to your names.co.uk's online account to change this information before you can do anything else.
