Looking for new place to settle

I'm looking for a webhost to host a website of mine. I already havea domain name hosted else where though. Is it possible to transfer the hosting to PowWeb or would I need to get a new domain name?

You can transfer your hosting to Powweb without changing Registrars as long as you are the Administrative Contact for the domain.

As long as your registrar allows you to modify your DNS information..... " some don't".... you have to request them to make the changes.... in which case.... if they had to make the changes for you.....

I'd be looking to transfer it elsewhere, where I can make those changes....

FSNC is right though... if you have administrative control over the domain name.... you should be able to make, or request the DNS change information.... you don't NEED to transfer...
