When cretating our site i found it annoying that when clicking to each new page the browser had to reload the top logo and the nav buttons

After much hair pulling i discovered the soultion was to use frames

You set the top and side panels up as frames then add links to the different pages from the buttons so that they show up in the text layout box

In our case the links are to our partners web site, i think you'll agree that this looks a lot better thab loading complete pages all the time

aplogies for stating the bleeding obvious to all web wizards out there but this may be of use to novices like me. I know MCSE etc but i never had time to web design !!!!Check out the page (http://wanbridge.net)

your link didn't work...
you might also want to look into ssi as an alternative to frames...

thanks josh, try it now. I keep monkeying around with it and i think i have it sorted now apart from one starnge thing, when i run the website loacll the rollover button effect works ok, but on the web it doesn't and i see a java error void message. Any ideas?

i am not that great with JavaScript, so i can't really read through that mess of a script created by NetObjects...perhaps somebody else can help you there to get your rollovers working.

anyways, i'm glad to see that you realized white (and other light colors) is the way to go for professionalism.

i would also recommend scripting by hand instead of using a program to build your website...it's worth learning how to do, and you can get sites looking exactly how you want them. you might consider starting at www.htmlgoodies.com

i took all your advice and using the iframe concept i did away with all that netobject crap and created my own in line frames with a lot of help from htmlgoddies.com i also use a java applet from apletlib.com for the buttons and it seems a lot better now,
thanks again for your help

Yea,

The new site looks like a well invested $50. It's great. Nice touch having the option of not using flash site.

Will get with you later about private message. I am interested!
