View Full Version : Can domain be "unpropagated"?

I have had my domain for about a year (have already renewed) and as of Friday have joined Powweb. I changed the name servers at my registrar (or whatever its called) to point to the Powweb name servers, and as of last night my domain (www.weaselslair.com) and my mail (mail.weaselslair.com) were resolving (Comcast DNS servers) to Powweb. Now my domain resolves again to my old IP, as does my mail. My registrar still has Powweb for the name servers for my domain (I checked). Is this a Comcast issue (like they restored their servers from a snapshot that was a few days old), or something to do with the domain propagation?

I'm really confused. I know I can set OutlookExpress to read from the actual IP address of the powweb mail server, but now I can't publish my (poor example of a) web page - it'll go to the old site.

TIA

Quite possible that some ISPs did go to a backup over the weekend as there was a massive web attack going on. If your DNS doesn't resolve in another day or so, check back. I also have a couple of domains that have been in limbo these last couple days.

I could be wrong, but I think that would be the cause. I'm on Charter cable.

Yeah, its now working again. I realized after I posted that I was able to get to my new work-in-progress page from work but not from home (Comcast). So, it was probably them - and maybe due to that worm. I wish they had a web page that would list things like that - so I wouldn't have to call and be on hold for hours just to hear "no problem here"!

Now hopefully I can get Frontpage completely working instead of that "Error: 403 Forbidden Forbidden You don't have permission to access /_vti_bin/_vti" error as reported in this (http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15335) thread.

Thanx for the quick reply.
