I've got some up - some down all on the same database
appears to be several damaged tables - I was working on that part of it while it died a ways back, suspect that's when it damaged it. Now most forums work, one is dead

To all mysql users.
Don't rely on "localhost" for your server.
I always use MyServer@powweb.com to connect to mysql.
I spent hours cross-posting with an admin regarding this same problem a while back.
The Admin said everything was working fine, but there was no still no way to connect thru "localhost".
Finally after 2 reboots of mysql the problem disapeared.
I the meantime 50% of all connections were not made.
I hope this helps a little bit.

I don't think this is a problem as we are using Unix/mysql.
But you never know.
