More FTP problems

I still have problems with FTP. I got both FTP Explorer and WS-FTP LE to work, but neither have chmod support. winxp FTP does not want to support pasv mode. I anot sure if it allows chmod .. tried to use the literal command, but that did not seem to work as expect.

So how do I execute a chmod?

This forum is great. I post a message about a problem and turn around and find the answer. I found chmod in ws-ftp. It was kind of hidden. Just select the file and do a right click. chmod is one of the options.

WS_FTP LE does support chmod - highlight the file you want to change, right click and select "chmod (unix)."

You can turn on passive FTP and use FTP right in Internet Explorer 6.0 (and earlier versions). Select the Tools menu and choose Internet Options... Advanced... and place a check mark in the box to "Use passive FTP".
