On Sunday, around 8pm est, we changed our dns settings to point to powweb. It is now about 11:30, and my computer at work doesn't access the new site, just th eold one, and neither does my computer at home.

Now I do know that some people are getting the website, so I know it's working a little.

We have our dns at opensrs, so do we have to do anything different other than point to the two servers at powweb? I guess what I am asking, if you don't have powweb own your dns name, do you have to do anything differently?

I understand that some isp's have perhaps done backups today or yesterday, so does the propagation process start again after the backup, if it was done?

How long should I wait until i think there is something wrong?

Can someone check on us at whois to make sure we have it done right? We're located at www.bcvoice.com. Thanks a lot everyone. By the way, our temp site is 10x as fast as old one, you guys rock.

jgarnar,
Your live and kickin here in Texas. I get your perm domain and all of your site is working. Love the Andy Rooney thread.

If you still can't get your perm site, you might want to call your ISP and ask them to update their DNS.

DNS propagation can seem somewhat strange at time. It's been less then 48 hours since you made the change, it's not unusual for it to take up to 72 hours for the various DNS caches around the internet to notice the change. Some ISP’s cache DNS information for longer (up to a week).

Looking at your whois information, you have the correct nameservers in your record so it looks like you just have to wait.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure all was well. My younger brother is my webmaster, and you know how realiable younger brothers are...

So as long as I just hold on and wait, eventually things will be good to go, right? Excellent.

Thanks again.
