FTP users?

I've been having a problem after I create an FTP user in ops. No matter what I do, they can't log in to their FTP. I've tried 3 different FTP programs, a dozen different passwords, and a bunch of new usernames. The FTP usernames I created before all connect and authenticate just fine, but the new one(s) I made aren't authenticating. Username goes through, but password doesn't.

I read something similar to this happening on saturn (I think), and I'm on callisto... Any fixes/suggestions/updates? Thanks.

First...it sometimes takes up to an hour for an FTP user to become active...and did you give him permissions to a specific folder??

I've been trying for 2 days. After I read your post, I figured that might've been it, just me being impatient, but still no go.

And yes, I gave permissions to a specific folder. One inside of /htdocs.

I can't ftp either. My question is what port are we supposed to ftp to?

Port 21's always worked for me. I'm behind a pretty tight firewall and it usually goes right through.

Yeah, all the sudden I can't either.

I could 35 minutes ago, though.

My relationship with Powweb is love-hate. I love that they're $8 a month, good tech support, lots of space, blah blah blah... So I shouldn't whine about not getting to FTP for 2 days.

Ah well. For what we all pay, I'm willing to deal for a little bit.

I'm able to FTP now. My mistake was the instructions say to use ftp.yourdomain.com for host address and that's wrong
