View Full Version : Can I move my website off of comet?
It really hasn't worked much in the last week. I guess that's one way to stay under the bandwidth limit.
You may move if you wish, but be warned, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
If you still wish to move, please contact admin@powweb.com and make the request.
Remember, due to DNS caching, your site may be unavailable for 24 hours or possibley more. Email is not interrupted in any way.
Well either we can all move our sites off of comet or they can fix the problem. Hmmm....
We are doing all we can for comet. We are looking for ways to rebuild much of it w/ no or little downtime for our customers.

Well, i'll take a few hours or even a day of downtime if it means that after that everything will be back to normal. Just give us a notice when the downtime is going to occur so we can inform our visitors about it in advance.
Please please fix comet ASAP as its really gone on for too long already.

I agree that something needs to be done. It gets really old when I go to update my site, or test a new PHP script, and it takes forever (if ever) to load the site. Not to mention all the visitors that get turned away.
The server may be up, but it certainly isn't performing as it should. Does anyone have any idea what's causing the problem? I would much rather have my site down for a day (with advanced notice, of course) than have it be so unreliable. Don't forget, the top page of the PowWeb site says: "99.7% Uptime."
It worries me too that "the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence." What that says to me is that ALL of the servers are unreliable at PowWeb. Of course, in my experience, the server hosting PowWeb's site is never down or slow when I'm having problems with Comet. Perhaps we can have our sites moved to THAT server. Then when our sites our down, their site is down. :)

Yep, this site is always lightning fast and is the only one with 99.7% uptime!
something needs to be done now. This has gone on for WAY WAY WAY too long. My site has been down for half of today, I haven't been able to even load one page!!!!
This is totally and completly unacceptable, I'm not paying money for my site to be down or slower than a snails pace.
