I have several .ABI files in my windows temp folder on my system. I know you can dump the .tmp files but dont know about these. Did the windows file clean thing but they are still there.

have you tried looking in your file associations to see what program these are linked to?

I looked everywhere I could and I have no idea what those files are for. I'd also suggest what paulselhi said. If that doesn't help maybe try renaming them and see if everything still runs ok.. then delete them a week or month later.. if you feel lucky ;)

I am convinced now that it has something to do with an AOL updates thing. I use RoadRunner but my better half has to have her daily dose of AOL. I have tried to ween her off but she just won't.

send them to the recycle bin and let them stew for a while, the files not the other halves. You do back up........the files?
