Did you enable extensions in your members area?
What is the component? If it is ASP or access database driven, Powweb does not support it.
Yes I have frontpage extension enabled.
It is the INCLUDE PAGE component. I am not sure if it is ASP or not. I don't believe so.
Thanks,
Goose

I use the 'includes' feature all the time and haven't had any problems. In fact, my site hosted here at PowWeb has 3 includes on every page. I've also used inline frames, substitutions, and other normal features of FP.

The only time I can't use the includes is when using a CGI script that i'm building a template around. For some reason it doesn't like calling the includes from the cgi-bin.
Also, when you save your included pages, do you save them in a separate directory called 'includes'? That's the best way to get FP to set them up correctly and for you to manage the various pages.
I actually got it work on my site. However, it will not work on my subweb. I have a subweb created in frontpage. It seems that "includes" do not work here.

Thanks for the tip about include folder.

Using a subweb shouldn't be a problem. What you may have to do is to create a new 'includes' folder in the subweb as well. Then, copy the pages into it from the main web 'includes' folder'. Then, FP will make reference to the 'subweb' folder when calling the pages. :)
Well I tryed it again, in the sub web, with no success. I did put an includes folder in my subweb. The coding is correct to my knowledge. The page I am testing it on is www.npgpro.com/racing/New_Template.htm (http://www.npgpro.com/racing/New_Template.htm)
I was wondering if the Frontpage Extensions need to be installed for the subweb. I really don't think so.
Hmmm...

Try pointing the 'includes' to the page in the subweb using an absolute URL. So instead of this:
includes/thepage.htm
It will have this:
http://www.yoursite.com/subweb/includes/thepage.htm
See if that will summon up the included page.

goose...let me ask you a question. Why do you have a subweb?
I use a subweb because I am using shared borders and I needed two different top borders and side borders. Shared borders only apply to a current web. So I figured the way around it would be to make a subweb.

Ok, that helps. Here's a way around this using includes and only one web.
You don't need the shared borders if you utilize the includes for your side bar and top bar. And, if you need to have different pages with different top or side bars then simply make a new includes page for those areas.
The included content can be placed inside of a cell of a table. So when you layout your pages i'm assuming you have a table that holds the left side content and top part content. If not, then you should use tables. Then, create an 'include' page called 'leftside1.htm' and place your menu or navigation in it ( if that's what you're putting there ). If you need something different for a particular page then create a second 'include' page called 'leftside2.htm' (both saved in your 'includes' folder) and have THAT particular page call THAT particular include page. Do the same with the top section.
Great Idea...Thanks..I would much rather do it that way. I did not really like the subweb. Thanks for tips. Of course, I have to redo my pages now. Good thing I did make each one a table. Except for now left handed column.
I appreciate the help and will be sure to include you link on my site.
