Are directory names case sensitive?

Are directory/folder/file names case sensitive on powweb i.e. is refering to abc/picture1.jpg in my html the same as refering to ABC/Picture1.jpg?

directory and file name are case sensitive, as the pw boxes are unix best to stick with lower case

These are all different, as paul said it is best to go with all lowercase and no spaces with file names/folders.
