What exactly are web folders? I think they are folders that allow me to save my documents diriectly to the web or web account, so I tried to connect, but the thing won't let me. It's in the My Computer thing. I think this is what it does, and I would like this, but does it do this? And exactly what do you enter in server box. I can't figure it out.

HELP!!

Web folders are really FTP within windows explorer. You can treat the ftp location just like any other folder (copy files, etc.). Really handy for quick updates or checks. After you use IE to FTP to a site, the site should be "kept" in windows explorer under the network places folder - you should see it listed there.

So . . . there may be other ways to set this up . . . but the way I know is to first use IE to FTP to the site. Put your FTP server in the address bar - go there and enter you user/password. Close IE, then next time you go to windows explorer it should be there and you should not have to reenter the login. If you want to get rid of it from windows explorer later for some reason, just delete the link in Windows Explorer under network places.

Hope this helps. I know a lot of people frown on using windows for FTP, but I find it very handy for those short quick tasks.

But for site syncronization I use FTPSync.
