Hello,

If anybody familiar with these two programs, please help me to decide which one is the better one to make a website:

WebStudio, formerly by Sierra, (now by BackTo the Beach software) or CoolPage ?

I've never did any websites before.
Is there anything better and easy and fast to work with ?
I tried the WebStudio and it's very easy and enjoyable, but a bit pricey to register, the same as CoolPage - $60.
Are they ok in your opinions ?

Thank you very much!

Heya Brightsun...

I used to use an older version of WebStudio when I first started playing around with webpages. It was pretty cool, for what it was...an easy-to-use WYSIWYG editor. I got fed up with it, though, because the filetypes it created weren't exportable, and it made all my blocks of text into images (which made my page loading times horrible!). My frustrations with WebStudio prompted me to finally break down and learn HTML. ;)

I think it's a good tool to start with. I did grow out of it, though...you probably will, too, so please, don't spend a whole lot of money on it if you don't have to. (The copy I bought only cost about $13.00.)

I recommend www.w3schools.com for learning HTML. They break things down into easy-to-digest steps, and they have demos where you can play around with the tags as you learn them. What's even better is that their knowledge base and tutorials are completely free...you don't even have to register with the site.

Trust me, learning the basics of HTML is fast and easy, and as your webdesign experience grows, you'll continue to add onto that knowledge. It's worth getting a good basic handle on the language now, since you'll definitely need it later! :)

Good luck...and have fun!
