I have "inherited" a small intranet and am wondering if any of you out there may know of an easy to use intranet instant messenger type program for a WinN.T. server. All clients on the network have outisde E-mail accounts, but I don't want to use a web based I.M. service.
Thought this would be the best place to ask for advice.

I thought that NT Server had something like this built in.
My company uses Sametime, which is basically AOL's corporate version of AOL Instant Messenger. It can connect to a regular AIM account or not (configurable server-side, I'm assuming) and behaves fairly well. Hasn't crashed yet, at least, though it has some annoyances.
otherwise, net send! drop to dos (cmd) and type:
net send [computername] [message] and it pops up a dialogue box with the message. It's fun setting up an infinite looping batch file spamming someone's computer. :)
What's really fun is to name your computer 127.0.0.1. muhaha

Neat, but I don't think I would have much success in trying to teach anyone here how to work from the dos prompt. I am lucky that now I only have to go to the sever two times a week to unlock four accounts.
