I am having the same problem,

First my chat goes out, followed by my forum the next day so I call powweb support and they tell me to install updates.

After installing backups, and later on updates still no success.

Since I couldn't get things to work, I purchased two new databases; one for my chat and one for my forum. After paying someone to re-install the updates and restoring the tables things came back to life.

Now it is one day later and amember, the program that manages my subscriptions went out. Same error:

''Cannot connect to MySQL: User 'protect' has exceeded the 'max_connections' resource (current value: 3600)''

This is becoming an expensive joke

Not only do I pay $10 everytime I register a new MySQL database but it also costed me $100 to have someone update everything as recommended by PowWeb Support. Now it turns out that this was not the problem in the first place.

I really hope this problem problem will be taken care of soon. I am losing money, getting angry emails and the powweb admin has been ignoring my emails for the last 2 days. :(

Tejada,

What forum software are you using?

Ahh, I use InvisionBoard. Although it doesn't hit the max_questions or connections much while just posting in it, it does give that error when I try to do a data dump off of it.

It would be one thing if PowWeb would reset MySQL so my database will start working again but instead they just leave it hanging for several days and tell you to check your scrips... I have been calling them for 2 days now and the admin is not responding to my emails. This error is not due to any of my scripts and I do not believe that I hit over 3600 requests. My website is not busy enough for that!

I just got this error. I got it on all my scripts, php-nuke, geek-log, quirex php, IBF (forum). I just contact powweb hoping not to lose all my table because today I just re-did them all.

How many of us does it take for them to finally take us seriously and fix this issue!?

People posting in the "PHP / MySQL" sub-board seem to be getting the the mySQL resetted on their servers. Maybe post there and ask.

I have noticed some servers running mySQL will show it running fine, but cause errors. For some strange reason restarting the MySQL seems to solve problems.

hey

if they don't reset it for u

do it yourself...

powweb's servers will have security vulnerabilites and holes like every server does..

spend the time.. dedicate yourself.. and you'll get yourself a nice shell in there one day...

good luck though ;)

I've already moved one client to another host because of the new MySQL limits. His shopping cart wasn't even open to the public yet, and I was constantly hitting the max query limit. I'm about to move a second and a third established client away from PowWeb. Although they're using different shopping cart software, they're having the same problem with the 3600 limit. Traffic is low on both of these sites, by the way.

I had thought the problem might be with my shopping carts, but I just installed a classified ads script on another PowWeb site, and I hit the limit after less than an hour (I was still setting variables and working out bugs). This classified ads script cost me $200, so I can't just switch to different software. I'll try turning off a few of the script's features, but I'm skeptical that it'll make a difference. If I can crash the server this easily all by myself, I'm sure the database won't stay up with even a small amount of traffic.

I understand the current limits are based on this forum. Maybe forum software is less demanding than classified ads or shopping carts. I haven't had the occasion to install a MySQL forum, so I don't know. But I haven't yet found a script that doesn't quickly exceed the current limits. PowWeb is still a great value for anyone who doesn't need MySQL...

I just signed up one of my best friends to powweb and he is within his 30days and he uses phpnuke on his site. I'm telling him if this doesn't get fixed don't wait get out. I been here almost a year now and had no problem other then a few but always fixed by powweb
