I was just wondering if there is a way to mask the url when using powweb's guestbook and forum server. Though I don't see any problem with the url showing, I would like to hide it as a page on my site if there is any way possible. I appreciate being able to use something that doesn't put a bunch of ads and popups on a user's computer as most other services do and realize that I can just as easily get Ikonboard or Invisionboard to do the forum on my own site and other scripts for the guestbook but if I don't have to go through the hassle of configuring, that would save some of the headaches.

thanks

Not familiar with powwebs guestbook (didn't know they had one - I use one I downloaded), but you can mask any page address by launching the page in a frameset.

I do that with entire websites so the url in the address bar never changes as you surf the site.

Then I go one step further by redirectling every page (if it is not within the frameset) to the home page frameset. So even if you did find out one of the page addresses and tried to link to it you would get the home page frameset again.

thanks... no biggy. I'll probably end up using a cgi anyway but it never hurts to look at all the options.
