best free forum software (considering last MySQL changes ...)

Currently using phpBB2 free forum software but taking into consideration last MySQL using changes on PowWeb thought about using another 'less resource-eating' forum software. Any advice at which other forum software take more detailed look?

well, since the powweb admins are basing their "findings" on "this" board not crossing the limits even with 6k+ users, i suggest you try vbulletin as well, and if your forum still keeps breaking the mysql limits, come back and ask how is that so.

I think he meant free mboard software, not ones you have to pay for such as VBulletin.
