Red text on a black background is rather harse to try reading.

None of your images were displaying.

Your "Contact" page can not be found.

Yeah, sorry about that.I forgot to update this thread.I had to dump the whole site and am re-doing it all my way.Php-nuke was killing my site and I choose to just write it all out and have it more to my taste instead of going in and editing every script in php-nuke to my taste.Too much work, it wouldn't be nuke after the modifications that would need to be done if I kept it.Which isn't bad at all, but it is something that I need to work on during my offline time and just use what I know best for now.
I do have it changed somewhat right now, the bg is grey and the lettering, to me, goes better with it.Most of the image paths have been fixed.I am working on all the pages off line and when I get them completely done, then I'll upload them.
Thanks for the looksy (jj), probably in about a week or 2 I'll come back and do another site critique request.

Ok, I have it in particularly decent shape now.As stated in previous post, I have dumped nuke and wrote this all out instead.Could you check it out and give me your opinions please, as I am doing this for the web surfer :)
It still has alot more to go into it yet, but better for me to get some early thoughts before I go to far.

Text still red Crikey think I'm gonna burn a retina out in here today.
Only looked at a few pages cause I was squinting so much try darkred black white or something. Forum looks good and fills the screen nicely. Mabey you could blend the forum colours across the site. By putting links on your homepage like that your basicly saying "here these sites are better than mine ..go away now". I'd stick an image, like a map would be good ? and brief site description. Sorry if I sound blunt but... I am.

Thanks for the suggestions.I have been looking at some screenshots from in game and debating which one I want to put up there.A friend and I were trying to figure out which would look best :).
And I have a site description done on the local copy of index but haven't uploaded it yet 0.o
I will darken that red and see how that looks.
The links down at the bottom are courtesy links.I frequent both of those sites, plus Infosprite is another major interest for me since I help my friend admin and maintain that site.As I progress, I am going to have various other links to other Quake community sites.I have set up return links from a few other web sites, but they are going to place them when I get done with my pages.
Anyway, thanks for the thoughts about it, I appreciate it :).

Tested in Mozilla 1.2.1 800x600. Looks good and the menu rollovers all work fine. The graphics are a bit slow to load on my modem line. As I'm not a gemaer, I've no idea what it is all about but I'm sure the more knowledgeable visitors will get on fine. Getting your forum running will be a wlcome addition to the site. Overall, a nice design. Good luck with it.

I don't know if you've changed the site recently, I think the text colour is fine.

The menu doesn't have any rollovers, ie there is no rollover code not just that they are not working.

The text runs to the edge of the screen on the right and bottom on lower resolutions, it could do with a bit of space.

I was a bit disappointed that the screenshots are only thumbnails, I look forward to the bigger pics.

Overall a nice clean layout.

Thanks for looking, and for the comments.

marklar, I do have some full sized shots of those but I haven't gotten around to expanding that part of it yet.As nickc has mentioned, the 56k issue with load times and such, I have been trying to stay away from large images.I myself am on 56k connection as well, and I feel for anyone having to suffer with it still like I do.
As for rollovers, I do have alt for the menu.
And the forums is back up again.I had it shut down just temporarily.

Again, thanks.

The key to large images is choice. Have thumbnails with bigger images if you click on them. If you really want to be helpful, put options below each thumbnail ie, 640x480 30KB, 800x600 50KB, 1024x768 80KB.

That's how I plan to do it.Well, having the thumbs as links to a larger size that is.More than likely, I will have a page per pic so as not to cause massive load times for 56k'ers like myself :) .
Of course, some of those thumbs have a larger sized version in the Random pic rotation on the main page. All of those screenshots are also early construction shots of maps being worked on.All but 2 of the pics are from my maps. The thumbs on the screenshots page is pics from the current ctf map I am working on.I have more maps sitting here waiting to be worked on, but that one is taking all my mapping time at this point.

If all goes well this weekend, I will have more shots of that map in the most updated form for you to look at.
