PHPNuke 6.5 Upgrade

Hello,
I need some hints and help how can I upgrade PHP-Nuke 6.0 to 6.5. I have already installed version 6.0 about 2 months ago and I just don't want to delete everything and start all over. I have read those .txt and help files and they are not so clear to me and not in details.

my site http://www.mailboricua.net was updated today... you have to delete all the PHP-Nuke related files on the web server... no worries it is MySQL driven isn't it? you replace the old 6.0 files for the 6.5 and then you run the upgrade60-65.php on the /upgrades sub-dir on the package, to do this you just place it were the config.php and the mainfile.php are, and then run it from your browser.

Again this is what i did, i'm not responsible for what can happen...

As you told me to delete the OLD files and replace them with the new ones, how about my old work and users comments? Will any of those previous stuff be deleted? I think I am going to give it a try tonight, wish me luck :(

I did as the instruction says and I tried my best to solved the problem and this is what I am getting right now --" Creation of ephem table failed! 1046: No Database Selected ". I ran "upgrade25-35.php" and that's the error massage I am getting. What should I do ??

About the settings, they are all stored on MySQL, the users, the same, even the posts.

Mark did you edit the new config.php with the correct database name & user/password before uploading? Make sure you did that so that it can access all your old information. phpNuke saves everything in MySQL (other than maybe downloads?). I only have it running on an internal test server myself - but that's what it looks to be doing. I'm not sure if I like the fact that phpBB is integrated with it now, I don't know how effective that is efficiency wise.

I forgot THAT fact... you need tu supply the DB details on the new config.php.

grrrr I am MAD :mad: coz now the navigation is gone. It's not showing up now. Bost left and right side is off or somehow it's disabled. I think it's been upgraded to 6.5 but no more navigation. What I am missing ? here is my broken site http://www.sardar.ca and you can see the problem. I know why those pictures are missing but no idea about the left+right side bars. Any Help ?

Ah Finally I got it working. I just want to post my solution in case if someone has the same problem lol. Yes, I did whatever is told me to do in the readme files. One thing I was missing and that was. ....... "upgradexx-xx.php" must be in the same path as config.php or it won't work. At least this is what happened to me. My config.php wasn't in the /root but first time as the instruction said, I placed upgrade.php in the /root. Later on when I placed in the same dir as config.php, it worked and it looks everything is okay. GRRRRR poor instruction by author. He assumes we are Xpert as him but he forgot there is much n00bs like me around, who can't think :p

If you already have phpBB Port to Nuke installed you cannot use the upgraded that come with phpNuke6.5

Well, everything looks cool after I updated to PHP-Nuke 6.0 to 6.5. I was testing it so far and I found when I creat a NEW USER, it send an email with a link to activate the account. When I click the link, it gives 404 ERROR and I have the add the /DIR menually.
I installed 6.5 as htdocs/dir/dir. but the link it sends by email is htdocs/dir. So, how do I fix this SERIOUS error ??

The site I am having problem is http://www.sardar.ca. When you try to creat a new account and the activation link send by email, won't work :mad:

Any help PLEASE ?

i am screwing with a 6.0 to a 6.5 upgrade on another server i'll tell you on anything i find....

Jade, your registration link does the same... only thing that it sends you to pownuke.drazan.com instead of pownuke.com...
you have the same problem as him...

Go into preferences and verify your site url. It's what fixed it for me.
