View Full Version : multiple URLs to one site
anybody know how to point multiple URLs to a single site? It's probably simple, and I am missing something.

you need to check the tutorial on subdomains and pointing. You do all this with an htaccess file
tutorials are from http://help.powweb.com/
thanks, i read those but they seem more directed at true subdomains. I.e. if I want to have forum.powweb.com to point to powweb.com/forums.
That is not my issue. My issue is that i want to have multiple URLs point to one site. for example, let's say I have the following:
www.123.com
www.456.com
www.789.com
I want all three to piont to the same site content. or stated differently, I want 456 and 789.com to pint to 123.com.
I'd rather not have to pay for the hosting of 3 sites to set up a redirect at the other 2.

you don't pay for the hosting of virtual sites just a one off set up fee of a few dollars and yearly renewal of the domain name
i have www.black-and-white-to-color.com sitting inside a folder in www.wanbridge.net, all requests to black and white are redirected using htacces to the folder in the wanbridge site, you could of course have many sites redirecting to a single site or folder
You can pay Powweb to set up the domain pointing for you. $25 per site.
This gives you email for the new domain and the url remains the same in the browser.
You just have to change your DNS setting s to point to powweb and modify your .htaccess similar to a subdomain if you want different content on each site.

thanks. I set the other two up as virtual domains pointoing to the one site. Once it clears DNS we'll see how it is.
Thanks again.
