The title pretty much says it all. I want to design a logo for a website that I might consider starting.
Thanks!

I think the "Good Tutorials" sticky, has all you would need for tutorials no mater what program you are using.
But, If you have a more specific idea of what you would like help with, then we can better direct you towards what you need.
What program are you using? and what kind of logo.
Flash, animated, text, faded backgrounds, ??
If you are really stuck, post links to some sites that have images like you are trying to make, and someone here can tell you what you need to do to achive a desired effect.

Thanks for the reply!
I want a shape/figure that is large enough to fit the website's name onto. It has to look really sweet. I'm using Photo Shop 7, the logo is just a regular logo- not flash. It will have text on it.
I can't seem to find any examples to show you atm, but I hope you get the idea of what I want...
I want a logo that stands out from logo's of other computer hardware websites (comparisons would be Hardocp.com, tomshardware.com, anandtech etc.).
Here's the whole story:
I was recently a reviewer who wrote reviews about computer hardware. The owner of the website turned sour on me and did things he wasn't suppose to do.
I'm trying to start my own computer hardware site now. So this is why I need a sweet looking logo. If anyone is interested in working with me on this site, please e-mail me or contact me using AIM (SN: Rogerkamp8817). I'll give you more details about reviewing hardware, etc... I also need a PHP (or something better) that is simple to use so I can easily update the website...
I'm still in the brain storming stage. I don't even know how the theme of the site might look, or what the name of the site may be! So that's why I want to hear from you guys.
Thanks again.

This site has some excellent tutorials for PSP that will give you a step-up in designing your own logo and navigation. It does give step by step instructions on how to achieve certain effects.
Play around with some ideas, sketch them out on paper if need be. I usually do several versions of a logo, before picking the best one.

thanks!
Just something to keep in mind:
If this is going to be a content intensive site (like a hardware review site tends to be) then I would suggest that you don't get too fancy with the graphic for the logo. No need making a logo that looks great, but is 100k or larger in file size. Makes the page load too slow for those on dialup (65% of US users) and many will just not wait for the page to load.
So you end up with a pretty logo and site, but no visitors.
When you have an idea of what you want, post your colors and ideas, and I'm sure you will get some good suggestions :)

I need a design that can be fitted into the heading area. The picture of the above image is an example of what I'm talking about.
Instead of having that, I think something like this would look nice, but hopefully not too graphic:

Here's the original link. (http://www.pinoy7.com/psptutorials/exposed.htm)
I want my logo located in the area that says NexusHardware.
ATM, i think a metallic blue theme would look awesome.

Is this a request for someone to do it for you? I was under the impression you wanted to learn.
The images you provided use the exact same tutorials as the link in the site I gave you.
Just remember the selection/cut out tools are really important when creating your graphics.
Always set a new layer in your workspace, for each image you want to appear.
Good luck.
