We have had some great entries for our Graphic Challenge!

Here's the rules for judging. As stated in the previous thread.

Judging will be by everyone on these categories. On a score of 1-10 : 10 being the best

a) Orginallity << stretch your imagination

b) Use of Plugins << most effective use of plugins to create visual enhancements.

c) Concept << Does your image achive the concept or desired effect?

d) Recognized Moon & Water << Can reconize that Moon and Water was used in the image

e) Overall Image Result << Well put together design.

State the name of the Person and then score in the 5 categories. You can judge all the entries or a few of the entries.

=)

Hey Jade,I think it would've been easier if you like set up all the entries and put them on a (temporary) page on ur site...

Or just list all the entries here in a post with their links. :)

Also I think the judging is too complicated. Much easier if it was simply pick your faviorite 3 and award 3,2,1 points for the first second and third choice then just total all the entries. I think more people might be willing to vote that way. IMO

Here are the links to the ones submitted. I think I got them all, if not I'm sorry and it was NOT intentional.

muijefr (not sure which one you wanted to submit)
*edit*Since this has the "moons" and "it matters not" I'll presume that this is your entry then :) (both are good tho)

My loved one teaches design.
He gives JJ* & Croc Hunter "Best Design"

*except that little piece of pipe in the bottom left corner.

I vote Uno "Best Over-All"

It wasn't an easy task for this ol' geezer to decide between all the great pieces posted. But here are my top three choices:

#1 - Croc Hunter very original, good use of plugins and just a great concept.

#2 - Cabinetmaker just a great piece with qualities of all the requirements.

#3 - Uno A great job of using the required subjects in a very different and amusing way.

I agree with Wyndra that TERRELL deserves a 10 for "boobs" and also a good use of all required elements :D

I think everyone done a great job and I hope that we have more of these in the future :)

Oh my, I hate judging so I will simply state that ones I could like well enough to hang on a wall somewhere.

These are in random order...

Bad Hair Day's images is one that the flaws bug you just enough to force you to just stare and admire the image. I feel this is a nice piece.

Jade's is very interesting with good imagination and use of plug-ins. Although, I feel the moon and planets are too sharp...they look too pasted on.

(jj)'s is simple but a pretty scene.

TERRELL, I almost passed this one up as a cheap sex sell but your's really is a well put together piece and could make for a real good ad or poster.

Honorable mention...

satis's use of plug-ins are notable however, the liquid appears to be a thick paint instead of water... to me.

muijefr-- Oh my, Them birds just scare the b-jesus out of me. The moons...some edges are too sharp and others are too blurry to look realistic. But the use of orange somehow makes this a warm and visually interesting pic.

I would have made my entry load faster for dial up, included more lines of large text, and added other site links. Hopefully, "Cabinetmaker" has a better eye for cabinets than the maker has for art. !! I ask my mother which one she likes the best and she likes mine the best but she keeps looking at BHD's man on his moon.

I like them all , people have a lot of talent with the programs but to make a choice I finally decided by the order I would pick if i was going to print one out.

1. Jade

2. Terrell

3. JJ

4. Cabinet Maker

Well i liked them all but i will vote for only one under the premise that first is winning, second is losing and anywhere else is a bloody disaster :D

So my vote goes for Jade's

It's got the earthy, time bandits, fantasy look that appeals to me

No offence to all the others, they were all excellent

I am sure my critique was not needed and I did not mean to upset anyone. I felt the minor issues would of made the images more perfect in my eyes.

muijefr: I am sure your mother did like yours the best and I am sorry that I got chocolate in your peanut butter.

d) Recognized Moon & Water Bad Hair Day
Sharp. Love the flow and balance.

This one kinda reminds me of that old silent black and white movie "Trip to the Moon". I think that's name (Smashing Pumpkins did a remake for the music video "Tonight"). Just love the style over all.

Very well done everyone.

Can I enter my almost done site? It has been loaded on temp URL of www.giftwebpagescom.powweb.com. to look for kinks. the first kink I found is trouble with the music syncronizing. Music should start when first opening the sample gift pages. the sample announsites, and the gift web pages that I put up to look like I already have business, misleading, but I didn't want it to look like I have no business. Even if it is a new business. I still have to do order page, an instruction page and the details page, then it will be done. For water competetion see: http://giftwebpagescom.powweb.com/html/laura_carter.html

ANYWAY MOSTLY I NEED ADVICE WITH MAKING THE MUSIC START WHEN OPENING THE PAGE. I USE NetObjects Fusion 7.0. I know how to make music start by clicking music notes, but it just doesn't have the same affect, and it doesn't have the same affect when the music starts 1 or 2 minutes after you open the page. Anyone that can lend their knowledge I hear and listening Please help.

Open Net Objects Fusion right click in the layout region of the page you want and select "Layout Properties" Now on the layout properties palet click the background tab tick the sound box and browse for your music file. You have the option to loop the music to. Click preview to test your page.

thank you, that is how I have added all of the music, it plays perfectly on my parents computer, I think the problem is that my computer has so much graphics, big design programs, like quark, pagemaker, netobjects, dreamweaver, flash, photoshop, lots of clipart and lots of mp3 music, I have to contantly burn stuff to cd's and then delete in order to keep using my computer, I have 40GB hard drive and 256 meg of ram, but it is never enough for what I do. Thank you for your help.

I don't know much about the approach/methods your using
and that has never stop me before but you might try <body onload="...play if again Sam"> That is, use the onload event to initiate your sounds.

I just don't really get the html thing too much, well hardly at all. I downloaded all these bravenet webmaster tools or whatever, all of them were html codes, I know how to paste them in, but then what how do I do the form that is supposed to do this or that? Here is one a forum html code, yeah so then what, design on the page a forum? I just don't have that much of a grasp on that, it sounds like programming more; I mean it must be the codes needed to program all these neat features into a website, but still there is the question, yeah so where do i get template, or form for these neato kino utilities. I probably sound stupid, but if you have a software program play with long enough, you'll figure it out to do what it says, there is nothing for me to play with all I can do is paste in the code. If I go to preview mode I sometimes even see the form, but if I can't see it in the design mode It is not there, or how do I design around it? Here is one thing I don't get, I signed up for paypal, to accept cards, wow cuoldn't have been easier. I used to have a merchant account, nothing but a headache, this couldn't have been any easier, I am so impressed, however, I now have these buttons that bring up this neat charging form for the site customer, but I can see them at all in design view and can't move them, they are not in a good place very top right corner, and I don't know how to design a form and move those buttons into the form, what is up with that. I must stupid, but what is it?? Anything you know I would love to hear so maybe I can understand that much more. I have learned so much this past week alone and I am still an idiot, there is too much to know. thank you I will try pasting those music codes in, but what do I do then?
