3D Graphic Challenge!

We had such great contributions in our last challenge! Yeah!

Well this time it is going to be a bit broader in concept.

Criteria

3D

ALL PROGRAMS

"anything goes" Can be environments, models, objects, and anything else you can come up with. No Limits.

Originality is always a plus!

Deadline 2 weeks, ending Wednesday May 28.
One final Submission per person.

by all programs, do you mean just 3d programs, or can we do something in 3d and touch it up with a regular graphics program?

That means anything on your computer that can produce an image. You can use as many programs or tools that you have.

I am fairly certain that I will not be entering this one however, "anything goes" Can be environments, models, objects, and anything else you can come up with. No Limits. can mean a 30 minute 800 meg 3d animated movie. So, are animations really ok or are you going for a single image jpg, gif, etc...

And if animation are ok, may I suggest a cap be placed on its size?

ooh, good question. We could have some really inventive stuff then. I'm afraid (jj) wouldn't be the happiest camper, though. :)

Yup, I did state anything, but you may want to keep it reasonable or else no one will be able to see it. I certainly don't want to download an 800MB movie. :p If you do have larger files please post the size of the file next to your link. It will help the people know what they are clicking and why it's taking forever to d/l.

But I'm not placing a cap on the images. I want to see what you can really come up with. No limits, except for the criteria I posted.

This is also why I like a two week period for making things. We all know how long some of the programs take to render things. ;)

If you are allowing 3D animations, then maybe the competition should be split into two halves: Static and animated.

I am on a 56k dial up and would not bother viewing any animations that are submitted.

I'm old, and could possibly die before they finish downloading.........

The idea I have for my entry is to make one of those 3D scenes that need Red and Blue glasses to get the 3D effect.

Do you think that PowWeb could send out a pair of those glasses to all its customers in time?

It would be fairly essential as candy wrappers just don't cut the mustard..........

I just did this 3D Flash animation site thing. I worked on it all last week.
I would like to submit it as my entry if that's OK. If not, I'll work on something else.
I didn't see any requirements on graphics or images.
I missed the last challenge, so I hope I do good on this one.

i like this flash work, is it all flash ? or swift 3d ?

Its both. You can import 3DS files (from Max) to Swift 3D. Swift 3D turns your model to a Vector image that can be imported to Flash.
Vector images load faster (sometimes) then bitmap (raster) images.

The Swift standalone is a great 3D program. Easy to use. I learned that before I started to use 3DS Max. Made learning 3DS Max a lot easier.
