cannot access mail server.

I've been trying to receive and send emails since this morning (about for 3 hours now)...
but I cannot access the mail server.
I mean it takes looong time and says "time out".

I tried web mail too;
I opened the login page(webmail.sophia-i.com) about 5 mins ago...and I can see only the header.

I don't think this is my network connection problem, because I can access other website very smoothly.

Something is wrong with our mail server?

I sill cannot access webmail ...
I tried from friend's pc in the same room, and it works.
So I guess my pc is strange???

I can access this forum and every other website very soomthly,
BUT I don't know why I cannot reveice and send emails with my email software,
AND I cannot access webmail AND hotmail and yahoo mail.

All of web page related to mail is super heavy to access!!

Actually I COULD log in to my webmail 1 hour ago,
but it took more than 30 mins to see a mail inside my mail box!!

Please please anybody help me?

You've probably already shutdown and restarted your computer but in case you haven't, be sure to give that a try.

I did that many times....but still in the same situation.
I did virus checker and also spybot too.
I also updated windows for security bugs...


I used proxy server last night to access some website,
but I'm not using it after that.

Is that realated to this problem??

As I asked in your other thread . . . what mail server are you on?

You said "mail", but I do not think that is a valid server name.

If you look in ops, in your package, then under the users tab - you will see a table that shows your ftp, http and pop servers. Your pop server is your mail server. I don't think mail is a valid server name at powweb. Take a look and see which server you are on.

Then someone can confirm your server is OK or not. Someone in this forum is on the same mail server as you.

I'm sorry I checked it again. My mail server is "mail01".

Anyway, now I don't think this is a problem with powweb mail server....since I can access to it from my boyfriend pc in the same room without any problem.

Do anybody know where I should check with my pc(network) settings??

I'm able to access to this forum and all of other websites, BUT NOT to my domain webmail and hotmail though my browser (IE and NN).

Accurately, I can access to it, but it's SUPER slow...so it turns out TIME OUT error on both of mail software and browser.

I'm using cable, and it's very fast to access to this forum and other websites.

all internet sites are fast except 2 - and they both happen to be mail sites. And the same result with IE and NS.

OK . . . sorry, I give up . . . maybe some else will have a suggestion.

Try this...

* In Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu and choose Internet Options... Connections...

* Select the connection you're using and click Settings.
* Under Automatic Configuration remove all check marks.
* Under Proxy server remove all check marks.
* Click OK.
* Click OK.
* Restart your computer.
