Hi, I need help with editing a few photos. I designed and maintain a site: www.woodiesusa.com (woodie station wagons for sale) The photographs that I received of this car do not depict the true color of the leather interior and carpet.
The true color is very dark maroon. #5C1D26 or hex colors 102, 0, 51. Is there anyone willing to tell me how to do this without changing the other colors in the photos or better yet do one or two of them for me? Or should I have the owner take new photos? The location of the files are at:

Thanks in advance, Doree
Cant be hard,
Use layers and just overlay the section with a embossed effect with that color and your there.. Photoshop 7 is useful
I already tried layering, I just do not know how to keep the other colors (which are correct) to stay the same.
thanks, Doree
quite easy, let me know if this is what you want i can do the rest for you, or if you have photoshop i can tell you how i did it because its quite easy and dosnt take long at all.

Thank you for your efforts. I truly appreciate it, but the color of the interior is much much darker as in the paint of this car:

i c, i used the color u put in your first post however, im sure the same process can be used with a different color
ok i tried making the color darker and there is practically no difference in the color of the seats and carpet. the only major change is that you can see the front seats more clear
I am sorry if did not give you the correct information. I had the site owner choose from a site with hex colors and he chose a very dark maroon. How hard is it to do? I am totally self taught and my original looks very close to yours. How would I darken the leather and carpet without effecting the rest of the photo?
i used the magnetic lasso tool to creat a selection around the parts i wanted to keep then on a new layer filled the selectino with the color i wanted and set the layer effect to color, the edges will be a little rough at that point with some color in places where you may not want it but thats nothing you cant fix with the eraser on brush mode.
you may want to play around with the fill of the selection, if you want to make the back seats stand out more but still use a dark color what i would suggest is getting a dark color then a slightly lighter one, then using a gradient fill with the lighter color by the front seats and working you way down to darked by the carpet that way you can see the seats in the front without making the carpet in the back to bright of a color.
What I do when I have a problem like this, is to use the Quick mask (press Q), select the paint brush and "paint" the area's that I want to manipulate (they turn red as you "paint"). Once you have the area's selected that you want to work on, press Q again this gives you a "Selection", go to "Select" and "Inverse" the selection. Then select "New Adjustment Layer" you can either use Levels or Curves layer if you just want to darken the area's or you can use a Color Balance Layer if you need to change the shade slightly. Set the Opacity to somewhere between 50 and 70 percent and play with the settings.
Good Luck
Doree,
You should be able to accomplish what you want to do by using the Selective Color command (under Image Adjustments).
Or play around with the Replace Color command, using the eyedropper to sample the colors you want to transform.
I appreciate all the help today. I generally struggle for a long time before asking for help. I had the most luck with the Quick mask tool. The owner of the site has decided to take his own photos and hopefully we will come up with some better color. Had I not told him that the interior of the car looked like something a woman would choose, he would probably have been happy with the originals.
Nest time I shall keep my big mouth shut.......
