Making Thumbnails from .jpg files

I need to create a separate thumbnail file for .jpg files that will be uploaded from the clients. Can anyone suggest some method to do this?

Most graphic programs have a feature to do this. I usually use jasc image robot, but there are plenty of free programs. search download.com for thumbnail.

One that I've seen and used a few times is EZ Thumbs (http://www.fookes.com) It's a freeware program.

I have installed EZ Thumbnails, and it looks like a good program. The documentation says that it can be called from applications, example HTML. That is what I want to do, so can I just copy the EZ Thumbnails directory to my area on the server so that I can execute the program using my scripts? Or do I request the program be installed?
