What ever happened to the good old days when people got out into the fresh air with their cameras?

Know what I mean? (http://www.bad-hair-day.com/grfx/horseflyduo.jpg)

Then - Get some!

And then - Manipulate them and come up with something more interesting than the original.

The point I was making is that you can utilize the photographs you take in an artistic way.

I use Micrografx Picture Publisher (Now deceased, thanks to COREL - Spit!), and the effect I got took less than 2 minutes.

How would the PS 'gurus' manage the same effect without the use of 'Plug - ins'?

What else could the do with the original?

I feel a 'challenge' coming on..............

thats a real nice pic BHD.

there are ways of doing that in PS without plug ins, but none that i know of that would take 2 mins.

your right, no 3D progs can ever replace good old photography.

Mask the fly

Copy fly

Remove mask

Convert original to B & W

Re-convert to RGB

Paste fly in original position

Done!

Yes, I recently got myself a new camera and re-discovered how enjoyable photography can be.

Using Paul's favourite 'Bump map' I gave a more 3D and hopefully more dramatic affect to an old house (http://www.bad-hair-day.com/bump) in our village.........
